Vice Adm. Dunn: Naval Aviator

Vice Admiral Robert F. Dunn, former Commander of the Naval Air Force Atlantic Fleet, started his commissioned service on board the escort destroyer Nicholas during the Korean War. He would earn his wings in 1953 and go on to fly A-1 Skyraiders.

In Vietnam, he took part in A-4 Skyhawk bombing runs against North Vietnamese targets as executive officer and then commanding officer of Attack Squadron 146.
