The Miniature Fighter competition was born from the desperation of a country on the brink of defeat with limited resources and an ample supply of imagination. Imagination that spawned a slew of other diminutive fighters throughout WWII designed for highly specialized missions.
Some concepts were more successful than others, as Germany took a kind of shotgun approach in an attempt to create war-winning designs. In the end as inventive as the Germans were, they lacked the resources and manpower to reverse their fortunes!
