The Stinger's Tail: Part Two

Producer: Victor Vukosavljevic Duration: 29:00 minutes

The RAF and USAAF went into World War II with the fervent belief that the bomber would always get through. However, against the determined opposition of the Luftwaffe, it wasn't long before they were questioning their faith in this military doctrine. Even with the most sophisticated turret defenses of the time, bomber losses were heavy. As the Allies clawed their way deeper into Europe and looked to make a decisive blow against Japan, they could not be complacent. New strategies and technology were needed to ensure victory against two evermore desperate and deadly enemies.
